I am available to you as a consultant. A consultant is usually an expert or a professional in a specific field and has a wide knowledge of the subject matter. A consultant usually works for a consultancy firm or is self-employed as I am, and engages with multiple and changing clients. I have been involved in graphic design for over 30 years and as an experienced Director of Art and Advertisng (Creative Director) for a large corporation (AAMP of America) I have been involved with most facets of the advertising industry. As a consultant I bring this experience to you. Thus, as my client you would have access to deeper levels of expertise than would be feasible for you to retain in-house, and to purchase only as much service from my company as desired. In my last position before starting The Art Dept, I started as a graphic artist and eventually filled the duties of the two positions listed below which we entitled "Directorof Art and Advertisng".

A creative director is a position usually found within the advertising, media or entertainment industries but, in my case, the art department of a corporation. The job entailed overseeing the design of branding and advertising for the company and ensuring that the new branding and advertising fit in with the company's requirements and the image they wish to promotet. The main aspects of this role are to interpret a communications strategy and then develop proposed creative approaches and treatments that align with that strategy. Another is to initiate and stimulate creative ideas for and from everyone involved in the creative process. Creative directors normally oversee creative service agencies or departments within a corporation. In my case, this consisted of a multitude of people from the President of the company to the employees of the art department. A creative director is ultimately responsible for the quality of the final creative work. Many creative professionals arrive at advertising from a variety of other professions too, which include the more mainstream professions and some not-so-usual ones.

An advertising director is dedicated to creating, planning and handling advertising (and sometimes other forms of promotion) for its company or clients. An advertising director provides an outside point of view to the effort of selling the company or client's products or services and can also handle overall marketing and branding strategies and sales promotions for its clients. Upon completion of the creative work, it is their job to ensure the ad's production and placement.
